ENERGY

Chemical reactions reveal explosive and vivid patterns that visualise the power and beauty of energy.
Series: PHENOMENA, Episode 1: ENERGY, Runtime: 05:32
Synopsis:
Energy is at the foundation of all change in the universe. It’s ability to create change is visualised through chemical reactions in a petri dish. Alcohol and inks are dropped into hydrocarbons, where the chemical reactions create explosive reactions in the liquid as it releases energy and changes composition. Over dozens of experiments, high resolution cameras captured vivid and incredible images, with the chemical reactions replicating those seen on the sun’s surface.
The reactions were captured on an ultra-bright light box, causing the light to penetrate through the reaction and project intricate detail directly onto the high resolution digital sensor.
